DESCRIPTION

Despite the obvious differences between films in which you want to sell something, convey information, or tell someone’s story, you are really doing the same thing in each form – telling a story in a way that the audience will feel something.

This webinar will show you how to develop storytelling techniques that will help you be a more effective filmmaker, regardless of the type of story you are telling (how-to video, corporate video, marketing video or feature film!)

Through a discussion of how your audience is affected by story - and, more importantly, changes in a story, we will learn how to create "lean forward moments" to effectively manipulate your audience so they can understand the story you want to tell.

AGENDA

Through examples in all three formats - marketing, corporate and narrative fiction - we will deal with the following points, among many:

  • What is your story, really?
  • How you can create a script that will give the audience that story.
  • How to look for the shapes and beats within that story.
  • How to shoot to bring those beats out most effectively, despite the pressures of time and money.
  • How to edit and finish your project to bring those same beats out, despite what you had to do in production.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND

Editors, Producers, Marketing and Corporate Managers interested in video storytelling, Executive Producers, Any filmmaker interested in enhancing their storytelling techniques.
