Live Web Streaming is not only becoming more popular, it's becoming more necessary for social media, corporate and education initiatives.

Only a few years ago, large and expensive dedicated systems were required to produce high-quality streams. Now, you can do it with a few cameras and a computer.

In this webinar, you'll learn the basics of how live streaming works, how to build your first stream, how to take full advantage of today’s live streaming software tools and how to interface with CDNs (Content Distribution Networks).

PRESENTER

Alex Lindsay has been working in computer graphics and video production for over 20 years with 3 of those years working at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic on Star Wars: Episode 1. Starting in Programming and Computer Aided Drafting, Alex has worked in print, games, interactive, broadcast, and film. Currently, Alex is the founder of dVGarage and Pixel Corps, which builds tools for the Visual Effects community. As part of its production services, the Pixel Corps produces over 150 streams a year for clients of all sizes.

Marcelo Lewin is the founder and CEO of Ahead Of The Curve Media, LLC, owner of FilmmakingWebinars.com and CoderWebinars.com. Previously, he founded various other companies including Pixel Heads Network which was acquired by ProMAX and MyInternetDesktop.com which was acquired by Internet Appliance Network. Prior to starting his companies, he has worked for Walt Disney Imagineering, NBC, Toyota, and J.F. Shea.

HOW IT WORKS

1. LIVE WEBINARS
• Register for the webinar by selecting an option from the "Purchase Options" section.
• You will receive an email confirmation.
• On the day and time of the Webinar, click on the URL in the confirmation email.
• Remember to log in 20 minutes before the webinar to watch "The Twenties", a 20 minute "slide show" before the webinar.
• The presentation will appear in your browser. If this is the first time you've taken a Webinar from us, you will have to approve the installation of the GotoMeeting.com plug-in. You must have Java enabled for this plug-in to work.
• You'll be able to call into a phone # (which you will get in the confirmation email) or can also use your computer audio to listen in.
• You'll be able to ask text questions through an easy to use interface. Your microphone is not enabled during the presentation.


2. ON DEMAND WEBINARS
• Purchase the on-demand version (in the "Purchase Options" section)
• You will receive confirmation of your payment.
• You will receive an email with a link to download your on-demand version of the webinar

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

• Computer speakers (if you are not calling in).
• Any screen resolution should work, however, the higher the resolution, the better it will look.
• Any latest version of Safari, Internet Explorer or Firefox.
• Java needs to be enabled.


2. ON DEMAND WEBINARS
• Any Windows (XP, Vista, 7) or Mac (OS X) computer.
• Computer speakers.
• Any screen resolution should work, however, the higher the resolution, the better it will look.
• A media player that can play .m4v and .m4a files (iTunes, Windows Media, etc.)
• Acrobat reader for some of the PDF files.
• Depending on the webinar, you will need a host application to open up the bonus features (such as project files, etc.)
