DESCRIPTION

Though the shear amount of footage in any project can be daunting, there are artistic and social rules editors should follow, which streamline the process of editing.

In this webinar you'll learn specific steps for picking the shots in a rough cut, what those shots mean, and how to improve the emotional impact of your cut. You'll learn how to deal with multiple opinions in the cutting room, and how to best analyze a scene.

The footage speaks. It's our job as editors to learn to listen to it.

AGENDA

  • The editing room's creative lingo.
  • How to read a film's script notes.
  • Understanding camera angles (coverage).
  • Editing style differences for "TV & Film, Documentary, and Short Form"
  • Picking angles; cutting the rough assembly.
  • Picking takes; doing justice to the material.
  • Setting the pace of a scene with trimming.
  • Making your cut presentable with sound.
  • Versioning your cuts.
  • Analyzing a scene and solving it's problems.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
